Most vocabulary tests give you a single suspiciously precise number, like "you know 8,432 words." We don't. Our test reports a range, because that's what the underlying statistics can actually support -- and we tell you exactly how the estimate works.

Is this an accurate score?
It's an honest estimate, not a certified score. We report a range because that's what the statistics actually support, and we flag results that aren't reliable enough to report at all -- for example if it looks like you were guessing -- instead of showing a misleading number.
Why do some words look fake?
Part of the list is invented, pronounceable non-words. If you say you know a lot of them, we can tell the result isn't reliable and let you know, instead of reporting a misleading score.
How long does it take?
